Digital Sports Group are today launching the PFA Player Profile of Birmingham Goalkeeper Jack Butland. DSG became the official digital partner of the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) earlier this year and have since launched a number of Player profile fan pages on social media site Facebook as well as providing official player pages on their site football.co.uk. It was today the turn of Jack Butland to see his official PFA Profile.

A product of the Birmingham City Academy, Jack has been involved with England since U16 level when he made his debut against Northern Ireland in a Victory Shield game in October 2008 before he made history by becoming the youngest goalkeeper to represent England at senior level when he made his debut against Italy in Berne in August 2012 whilst still only 19-years-old. On his rise to the Seniors, Jack has represented England at U17, U19, U20 and Under-21 level and was a part of the squad which lifted the UEFA European U17 Championship in Liechtenstein in May 2010. He started that competition as the understudy to Sam Johnstone, but after an impressive performance when he got the opportunity to play, he kept his place and ended the competition in possession of the shirt. The following year, Butland was called into the England U20 squad for the FIFA U20 World Cup in Colombia to get even more experience under his belt and he impressed in South America as one of the competition's best goalkeepers. With Stuart Pearce on the coaching staff for that tournament, Butland caught the eye and went straight into Pearce's Under-21s as first-choice 'keeper for the 2011-12 season.

Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait had this to say “Jack Butland will have no shortage of fans after his impressive performances for Birmingham.”

“Of course a player with Butland's talent requires a certain level of respect and responsibility and he is sure to be a major hit with fans on Facebook.”

Digital Sports Group will provide further PFA player profiles for every professional footballer in England as well as the latest football results. You can now 'like' the Jack Butland Facebook page to keep up to date with his latest news.
